Actor Sharib Hashmi, who is best known for playing JK in the Amazon Prime Video series ‘The Family Man’ alongside Manoj Bajpayee, shares insight into his new series ‘Khoj – Parchaiyo Ke Uss Paar’ that is streaming on ZEE5 Global. The show follows Hashmi’s character Ved, who is searching for his missing wife Meera, and the hunt brings a series of twists and turns that make Ved question his own sanity.
Hashmi explains that the series intrigued him when he read the script, and the story really drew him in.
“I thought initially they would approach me for the cop’s part, but when they said they wanted me to play the husband, I became even more excited.”
Hashmi has quite a lot of experience working on OTT platforms and shows, and he explains that those platforms give you an opportunity to grow.
“On OTT, there are seasons, so there is an ongoing story, just like life. When a season is released, the feedback you get from the audience helps you create the next season. You have the opportunity and facilities to try and make a character better, so that’s a good thing – the character graph is created and keeps moving, which is amazing for an actor.”
In May 2018, Hashmi started shooting for the first season of ‘The Family Man’, and is currently shooting for the third season.
“I’m not bored of the character, and in fact, I look forward to go on the set of Family Man, to become JK, and to start shooting for the series. Everyday on the set is like a blessing for me.”
In Khoj, Hashmi’s character Ved Khanna is a well-settled lawyer, who has a wife and children, and is incredibly content with his life. After his wife disappears and another woman arrives saying that she is his wife, Ved’s whole life turns upside down. Watch the series now on ZEE5 Global!
