Singer and artist Shady Mellow shares insight into his new EP ‘Pushing Up Daisies’

Young up and coming artist Shady Mellow is taking over the Indian music scene with his new EP ‘Pushing Up Daisies’ that was just released. 

Mellow explained that the EP was always his dream project, and that he had been thinking about naming whatever his first EP would be ‘Pushing Up Daisies’. 

“In fact, the artwork for ‘Pushing Up Daisies’, was done back in 2019, and the idea behind it is discussing the beauty of the cyclical nature of life.” 

Mellow explains that the main idea behind the title of the EP is how death is not the end, and that after death, life begins again. 

There are four singles in the EP, and Mellow shares that he wanted each one to tell a story of someone who was going through life. 

“All the four songs depict different emotions, because I wanted to portray the cyclical nature of life, and how the end is just the beginning.” 

The themes of the EP are all cyclical, so if one listens to the last song and then goes back to the first, it’s a full story. 

The EP is produced by T-Series, and as an independent artist, Mellow explains how he approached them. 

“I asked them what they want from me, because I also want to be true to myself. While making music, I do not want to make music keeping someone else’s idea in mind, but at the same time, I also understand T-Series have to appeal to audiences.” 

Mellow has another EP in the works, that he will be collaborating with Assamese and other North East production houses for.
