I feel parents are the most important in our life. If we can spend time with them, be with them, take care of their health, especially when they are aging, it is absolutely necessary. I personally feel if you give them your time, your affection, love and care, then there is nothing like it. All these matter more than any materialistic thing. I see people around giving a lot of expensive gifts and money on this day to their parents, but then they don’t have time for them in most of them, leave them alone. I want to tell all the kids that it is not about Instagram or Facebook, that you post some lovely photos of your moms on Mother’s Day and then you forget the rest of 364 days where your mother goes or what happened to her, then you are doing it all wrong. I stay a little away from my mother but I make sure every month or in two months I do visit her. I make sure every morning when I get up, the first thing I do is call her, and I repeat the same after reaching home. I think the best gift I can give her is love, taking care of her health and being there for her. Whatever you have learned in your childhood does leave a mark on you. My mom used to plan indoor games so that my sisters and I would stay at home. She used to make things interesting for us so we don’t get distracted and go out. My mother taught me to always do good to people. If you can’t be good don’t do anything bad to them which might harm them, is something that she always tells me.

What my mom has done for her children by going out of her way just to make us happy and educate us, I can’t return any of that in any way at all. In fact no children can but yes if I would have a chance to do something special to make her happy then I will take her to the Gurudwara Shri Panja Sahib in PAKISTAN. She loves that place.

I believe whatever I give my mom, it will always be less compared to what she has done for me. His love and affection cannot be reimbursed by gifting anything in the world. As it’s a saying that a daughter is more close to her dad and son is more close to his mom, but in my case I am more close to my mom. I was a single child till my late teens, so I have gotten that pampering from both my parents, but I share my things with my mom more. Stating one memory as the most will be unfair. She has always been by my side in every aspect of my life. I was a very naughty child and used to annoy my mom a lot. And, I have gotten good scolding from her as well for that.

I feel mom’s are the biggest blessings of our life even if we offer the world to them it will still be less. I personally want to give her my time because honestly in today’s world where everyone is just focusing on being successful and running behind their ambitions and goals we forget the most important thing is our parents. I make sure whenever I get an off I go and visit my hometown. I want to take her on holidays, make her enjoy life and make her do whatever she has not done till today because of all the sacrifices that she has made for me.

My mother’s name is Aasha. She is there with us in our hearts. She is not there any more as she left us 6 years ago, but whatever I am today is because of her. She supported me and my sister, my brother, my family and everyone. Since childhood, she has made us so strong that we can do anything and everything from household work to our profession. My fondest childhood memories are many, but one is very special. Me and my sister would wear clothes made from our mom’s sari and the three of us used to wear the same fabric, the same colour and the same pattern. We used to wear ditto clothes. In Chandigarh everyone knew us because of this. I miss you mom.

When you look into your mother’s eyes you know that it is the purest form of love you can find on this earth. Mothers don’t ever take a day off from their continuous efforts to bring up their children and give them the best life possible. This is the perfect day to take a pause from our schedules and just appreciate our mothers. Their efforts, selflessness, never-ending love for us… just all of it. My mom is everything to me. She has always been my best friend first and then a mother to me. I feel like I can share every single thing with her, no matter what. She is a walking miracle! I don’t remember a time when mumma wasn’t actually my friend. Through thick and thin, through the highs and lows, through the darkest of nights and the brightest of mornings- my mom has always been by my side. She has always uplifted my mood and given me the confidence that everything is just the way it should be! Yes, she does scold me at times, even taunts me when I am wrong. But half an hour into some random argument and bam, you’ll see us on the dining table laughing about something. That is why she is called a ‘mother, the caregiver, the one who knows how to get angry at her child but also how not to let me be upset for long. I believe that my mom does everything in the best possible way. She is a perfectionist. Every nook and cranny of the house is tip-top and I am pretty sure she gets it from my nani. This habit results in her being on her toes all the time. She never takes out time for herself. She’s the most unselfish human being and doesn’t ever want to take some rest. It is always like ‘if I take rest how will the other things get managed?’ And I see her. I see her work so hard from early in the morning till late at night. I see her put all her efforts so that all of us can rest. And it makes me feel so good that there is someone in my life that is so selfless, just like my dad! They are my pillars, my rocks! So, if I had to give her one thing it would be a day off or a week/month off. However long she needs to just relax. Imagine getting sleep for just six hours, sometimes even less. I want to give her a vacation. A place of her choice that she can visit, chill, eat, sleep as much as she wants to. And yes, I will be her personal photographer because I am sure she will love that more than the vacation! I want to make the best of memories with her. Something she can cherish forever. Speaking of which, there is one beautiful memory that I want to share. It was 2013, one Sunday morning. I remember that I woke up late. I was eight years old at that time. I woke up and mumma just handed me a letter. I was half asleep but even then, these little gifts mattered to me. It was green colour A4 paper with a little princess sticker on the side and had mom’s beautiful cursive handwriting. She wrote, ‘Good Morning my love, it is Sunday morning and both you and dad are still asleep so I thought of writing this letter to you. You look so sweet while you’re asleep…’ I remember everything that she wrote in it. I still have that letter with me. The next month, it was my birthday. I am reminiscing about how she gave me 18 gifts, one each day, till my birthday. I loved every single one of them. She chose everything that I really liked. That is one of my fondest childhood memories with my mom. Also, mumma, if you’re reading this, know that I love you a lot! I always will! Even on days that we argue a lot, you scold me and I start crying like a baby. And on days when you feel like I have grown up and won’t need your help anymore, please know that I always will. I will need you by my side. I admire you. I adore all that you do for us. You’re an amazing human and I love you beyond what I can express in words! Happy Mother’s Day to you! And Happy Mother’s Day to all those beautiful, strong women out there, you all are simply amazing!

There is a lot to be said about my mother, words will fall short because we cannot describe the amount of love I have for her. Mother is everything for her child and she is the one who gives us life. She is the beginning of life and also the end. When we grow up, we are able to give very little time to our family. On the other hand our mother gives her whole life for her children. Children never grow up for their mother, they will always remain a child f
to her. We all should give time and love that our mothers have given us in our childhood.

I would love to win the Filmfare best actor award and hand it over to her as this is her dream. That will be the most special gift for my mother. I cherish each and every day spent with mom and now even more as we live in different cities. She lives in Delhi and I live in Mumbai. My fondest memory with mom would be when she used to get me ready for fancy dress competition in school. I was in first standard and she made me a Buddha with multani mitti all over my body and added a fake bun on my head. I still remember the day when I went on stage to introduce myself as Buddha, and she was standing right there in the crowd cheering me up as I have always been a very shy kid. And, guess what? I won the first prize.
