Aftab Shivdasani Talks about Groupism in Bollywood ; reveals Karan Johar is his Distant relative

Actor Aftab Shivdasani made his Bollywood debut opposite Urmila Matondkar in the year 1999 with the film ‘Mast’. However, before this, Aftab had worked as a child artist in a super hit film like ‘Mr. India’. Later Aftab did many popular films like Masti, Awara Pagal Deewana, Hungama but could not make his mark as a successful solo hero.

In a recent interview with ETimes, he spoke openly about his long film career. When Aftab was asked about the camps and groups in Bollywood, he said, ‘This groupism was called Campism around the year 2000 where people used to say that this actor is associated with Yash Raj, Bhatt or some other camp. This never happened with me because I worked with a lot of producers and I was friendly to everyone but close to nobody. ‘

Karan Johar is my distant relative, reveals the ‘Hungama’ actor

Aftab further said, ‘I did 9 films with Vikram Bhatt and 5-6 films with Ram Gopal Varma but I never became a part of their camp. Karan Johar is also a distant relative of mine but I have never been close to anyone. I was friendly with everyone so I don’t have any enemies, and i have always kept myself away from this groupism and campism. ‘

Aftab also revealed that he rejected a lot of films because he was offered 3rd or 4th lead. The actor also displayed his displeasure about remake of the film ‘Mr. India’, in which he worked as a child artist.
