Ranveer Singh is all set to play a Gujarati man in Yash Raj Film’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar. From the first look of the film, we can say that this film is definitely one of the most anticipated films of 2020!
This YRF entertainer, with a social message, has been hailed as ‘a miracle script’ by Ranveer himself. The film is clearly signaling to audiences that they can expect a powerful, entertaining movie.
YRF, today, made it official that the film will release on October 2, 2020 (Gandhi Jayanti holiday). A YRF spokesperson confirms the same saying,
“In the interest of both films and to ensure an ideal theatrical release, Aditya Chopra & Ritesh Sidhwani have decided to release their films on different dates. YRF will release Jayeshbhai Jordaar on 2nd October and Excel Entertainment will release Toofaan on 18th September 2020.”
In lieu of the same, Farhan Akhtar’s Toofan – which was to release on Oct 2 will now release on September 18, 2020.
In an interview to a leading daily, Ranveer Singh talked about his character Jayeshbhai. He said,
“As Charlie Chaplin once said, ‘To truly laugh, you must be able to take your pain, and play with it!’. Jayeshbhai is an unlikely hero – an ordinary man, who ends up doing something extraordinary. He’s hurled into a threatening situation. Jayeshbhai is sensitive and compassionate. He believes in equal rights between men and women in a society. And that is deeply rooted in patriarchal ideals, practices and doctrines.”
Jayeshbhai Jordaar is a humourous entertainer set in Gujarat with Ranveer playing the role of a Gujarati man. The actor transformed himself again shedding many kilos and looked unrecognizable as a Gujarati man. Ranveer as Jayeshbhai is the unlikely hero who will be seen championing the cause of women empowerment in the most entertaining way of story-telling.
Jayeshbhai Jordaar is a Divyang Thakkar directorial. It is produced by Maneesh Sharma under Aditya Chopra’s home banner Yash Raj Films. The film also stars Ratna Pathak Shah as Ranveer’s mother and Boman Irani as his dad.
On the work front, Ranveer Singh is part of Kabir Khan’s 83 where he plays the role of ex Indian Skipper Kapil Dev. Besides this, Ranveer will also feature in Karan Johar’s magnum opus, Takht.
