Elli AvrRam: I did Malang at a time when I was going through a lot mentally.

Elli AvrRam, who is always pushing the envelope with her performances, has impressed us with her performance in Mohit Suri’s Malang.

She plays an interesting and important character in this thriller love-story. Elli AvrRam sports dreadlocks in the film and has tattoos covering her head and body.

Talking about the film and her state of mind she said,

“I had a tough 2019. My brother was diagnosed with brain tumour. He had to undergo surgery and the role that I play in Malang was emotionally draining as well. It was psychologically complicated and took a lot out of me. I did the film at a time when I was going through a lot mentally. It is perhaps the most difficult role that I have played till date and I had to ensure I do justice to it.”

The actress’ look took everyone by a surprise as it stands out with its unique ensemble. With the dreadlocks, the tattoos and the black on black attire, Elli totally nails the grunge look and how!

Talking about how the whole look came about, the actress said,

“We were trying several looks for the role but when I put on this wig with the dreadlocks, it was a unanimous yes from the entire team. I don’t think there has ever been a character like this attempted before in films. They wanted tattoos but I requested Mohit sir to let me pick the tattoos myself. It gave me a better understanding of the world that she’s coming from. I have never been to any rave parties and Jessie is somewhat a wild child. But I have given this role my all.”
