Ananya Panday To Star Opposite Vijay Deverakonda

Ananya Panday, who made her debut with Student Of The Year 2 in 2019, has bagged another film. The young actress will star opposite Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda. This marks her third collaboration with Karan Johar’s Dharma Production after SOTY2 and Shakun Batra’s next. This film will mark Vijay’s debut into the Hindi film industry.

Reportedly, this mixed martial arts, heavy action film went on the floors last month. Recently, reports speculated that either Janhvi Kapoor or Ananya Panday could be roped in for this Puri Jaganadh directorial.

A source close to the development told a leading daily that the makers wanted to cast a young actress opposite Vijay. Revealed the source,

“Ananya is eager to work with Vijay and is expected to start shooting mid-March or in the first week of April.”

Karan Johar is on board this project as the presenter and producer.

Ananya is currently shooting for Khaali Peeli opposite Ishaan Khatter. She will start work on Shakun’s film by the end of the month. The actress also signed a film recently co-starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Saif Ali Khan.

Vijay Deverkonda gained immense popularity as the alcoholic-drug and sex abused doctor in the Telugu film, Arjun Reddy. The Hindi remake, Kabir Singh – starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani – was equally controversial. Vijay will soon feature in World Famous Lover.
