Akshay Kumar is a busy actor who entertains the world with numerous releases every year. The actor had an amazing 2019 with four box office hits – Kesari, Mission Mangal, Housefull 4 and Good Newwz. Akshay has two releases in 2020 – Rohit Shetty’ds Sooryavanshi and Raghav Lawrence’s Laxmmi Bomb. The actor has signed multiple projects for the coming years including an action-comedy with producer Ekta Kapoor.
According to a report in a leading daily, Akshay has signed his next which. This film, an action-comedy, is said to hit the theatres in 2021. The film will mark his reunion with Ekta after Milan Luthria’s gangster drama Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara.
According to a source close to the development, the duo was discussing some ideas in different genres and have now finalized on this one. A source revealed,
“Akshay signed the film around 10 days ago. The logistics are currently being worked out and the script is being finalised.”
Saying that the yet-untitled film is a comic caper with some action and lots of humour, the source went on,
“It will be directed by a debutant and mounted on a lavish scale. Like all his films, Akshay will complete this one too in a start-to-finish schedule.”
It’s being said that Akshay is planning to have five releases next year. The source further added,
“He is reading scripts and will lock his calendar in a fortnight. He does not want to restrict himself to a particular genre and has made a conscious effort to sign diverse scripts.”
On the work front, Akshay will soon feature in Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi. This film, co-starring Katrina Kaif releases on March 24, 2020. He will also star in Laxmmi Bomb – which will release on Eid 2020. The actor also has Atrangi Re, Bachchan Pandey and Bell Bottom under his belt. These three films will release in 2021.
