Amitabh Bachchan To Skip National Film Awards For This Reason – Read Details

The 2019 National Film Awards is all set to take place today and Amitabh Bachchan will be honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. However, owing to bad health, Amitji won’t be able to attend the awards ceremony in the capital.

The 77-year-old actor, in his latest tweet, stated that he will not be able to attend the prestigious award ceremony. He tweeted:

‘Down with fever .. ! Not allowed to travel .. will not be able to attend National Award tomorrow in Delhi .. so unfortunate .. my regrets ..’

The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is India’s highest film honour. The awards this year will be presented to the winners by Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu.

Talking about National Awards, Amitabh Bachchan has won four National Film Awards for Best Actor through his illustrious career. The actor look home the honours for his performances in Agneepath, Black, Paa and Piku.

Earlier this year, Amitabh Bachchan had to skip the 25th Kolkata International Film Festival because of health issues. The actor was admitted in a Mumbai hospital for a few days for a routine check-up in November this year. It was also reported that he was admitted due to liver ailment. A few days after the reports surfaced, the 77-year-old actor wrote about “strong warnings of work cut off” in his blog post.

On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan will soon feature in Gulabo Sitabo, Chehre, Jhund and Brahmastra in the pipeline. The actor recently wrapped up the shooting of Chehre in Slovakian. The film is a Rummy Jafry directorial. It stars Emraan Hashmi, Rhea Chakraborty, Siddhanth Kapoor, Drithiman Chakroborthy, Krystle D’souza, Raghubir Yadav with Annu Kapoor.
