The makers of Pati Patni Aur Woh released the film’s trailer a couple of days ago. While the makers and actors have been receiving love for the film, the audience is also shocked by an insensitive dialogue. This dialogue is question – Kartik Aaryan monologue.
Kartik is seen venting his sexual frustration to his friend Aparshakti Khurana in the scene. He says,
“Biwi se sex maang lein, toh hum bhikaari. Biwi ko sex mana kar dein, toh hum atyachaari aur kisi tarah jugaad laga ke uss se sex haasil kar lein na toh balaatkaari bhi hum hain.” (If we ask the wife for sex, we are beggars.If we say no to the wife for sex we are tormentors and if somehow we manage to get sex from her we are rapists).
The trailer shows how Tyyagi is happy and content with his ‘Patni’ Bhumi but then the ‘Woh’ of his life enters and the fun game starts. This dialogue has not gone down well with the public. A section of Twitter users see this as an endorsement of marital rape.
Seeing the backlash this dialogue is receiving, a source from the production team feels the dialogue will have to go.
He says,
“Since Kartik Aaryan’s monologue in Pyaar Ka Punchnaama was a hit they thought of doing another one this time and got carried away. The offensive monologue will be edited out of the film.”
Let’s wait and see what decision the makers will take for the scene.
A Mudassar Aziz directorial, Patni Patni Aur Woh is a Renu Ravi Chopra production. The film is a remake of the 1978 film of same name. It stars Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday in lead roles with Aparshakti Khurrana in supporting role. The film will release on December 6.
