Rajkummar Rao and Kangana Ranaut starrer Mental Hai Kya has been in since the announcement of the movie was made. It was mainly because of its quirky poster and the controversies of date clashes and the title. There has been opposition to its name owing to the sensitivity that the title holds.
A few days back Kangana met the censor board and she had confirmed that Mental Hai Kya shall get a new title. And today morning Balaji Motion Pictures passed an official statement renaming the film as Judgementall Hai Kya.
Balaji Telefilms Official Spokesperson Quote:
“Given the sensitivity attached to the issue of mental health and our intention of not offending or hurting anyone’s sentiments, the makers have decided to change the title of the film Mental Hai Kya to ‘Judgementall Hai Kya’. Both Kangana and Rajkummar have outdone themselves in this thriller and we can’t wait for audiences to witness it on the big screen.
CBFC has cleared the film with U/A certification with minor changes, which the makers are happy to comply with.
With the CBFC clearance, the film is all set to release on July 26th.”
Also according to a source, it has also been decided that the several places with the usage of ‘mental’ will be muted.
The trailer of the film which was supposed to release this week shall be released out soon.
