Ranjit Rai and Harbans Lal – Ishq (1997)

We just cannot forget this powerful character of a strict, disciplinarian father who was ready to maintain the reputation of him as the ‘Man of His Own Words. Even if it meant sacrificing the happiness of his own daughter.

Yashvardhan “Yash” Raichand – Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham… (2001)

He disowned his elder son only because he married a girl of his choice, but didn’t belong to their community. Also, he did not even try to get in touch with his son for 10 years until his younger son tried to bring them together.

Farookh Malik – Secret Superstar (2017)

Unnecessary domestic violence was his forte. Instead of supporting his daughter’s passion for music, he broke her guitar and left her dreams scattered on the floor.

Chaudhary – Heropanti (2014)

What can be worse than a father running after the life of his own daughter and son in law? He was even ready to kill his daughter if he found out that she ran with a boy she loved out of her own will.

Aftab – Gully Boy (2019)

He was shown as an abusive father who brings home a much younger second wife. This leads to humiliation for his family and is always against his son’s passion for music. He provokes his son and wife to leave the house as his violence towards them escalates.
