Ullu App is coming up with the bold series title ‘Panchali’, which will show-case the old tradition of men sharing one wife due to socioeconomic reasons. Padmaavat fame Anupriya Goenka, who was featured in web series like Sacred Games, The Final Call and Criminal Justice will be playing a shared wife in the series. Now we heard, actor Upen Chauhan will be playing Anupriya’s second husband.
When contacted Upen confirmed the buzz. Talking about the series, he said, “There is a tradition, which I guess still exists in some parts of India where a girl comes and marries all the brothers so that the family doesn’t divide. Our series is based on the same concept.”
When quizzed about the role in the series Upen, who did Mariam, Bepannah, Dil Hi Toh Hai, ALTBalaji’s Hum and Applause Entertainment’s Bhaukaal said, “I am playing the role of Balli, who is the second eldest son of the family. He is a hard working guy, who is close to his elder brother. He respects and treats him like a father. Balli fell in love with Bhoomi (Anupriya Goenka) after she willingly chooses to marry the 5 brother.”
Upen did a few intimate scenes with the Goenka, wasn’t he reluctant to shoot intimate scenes? “I wasn’t apprehensive since I have done love-making scenes earlier. But yes, I was bit nervous in the beginning. Anupriya is a fine actor, a little senior than me and I respect her a lot. I was hesitating, when I came to know about the intimate. But then she made came for the resume and made me comfortable.”
