Tabu, who is basking in the success of Andhadhun and is anticipating the release of De De Pyaar De, has joined the cast of Jawaani Jaaneman. The film stars Pooja Bedi’s daughter – Alaia Furniturewala and Saif Ali Khan.
Tabu, who last shared the silver screen with Saif in Hum Saath Saath Hain, has signed the dotted line of this Nitin Kakkar film. According to reports, the actress will not have a full-fledged role in the film and we will see her in a cameo.
The director of the film, Nitin Kakkar, told an entertainment website,
“We begin shooting for Jawani Jaaneman on Monday. It is a father-daughter story.”
Jawaani Jaaneman is a coming-of-age story revolving around a 40-year-old man and his relationship with his daughter. Alaia will be seen playing Saif’s onscreen daughter.
Earlier, Saif told a leading daily,
“She has all the qualities we were looking for in the young lead, the charm and energy to take the film to the level that it needs. We are lucky to have found our perfect cast and I’m looking forward to working with Alaia.”
It is also said that the makers zeroed in on Alaia after screen-testing 50 aspirants.
On the work front, Saif Ali Khan will star in Om Raut’s Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior alongside Ajay Devgn. He will feature in Pavan Kirpalani‘s horror-comedy Bhoot Police with Fatima Sana Shaikh and Ali Fazal will star in the lead role in the film. He will also appear in Sacred Games 2.
Tabu is currently busy promoting her upcoming film De De Pyaar De which also stars Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh.
The film is co-produced by Jackky Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment, Saif Ali Khan’s Black Knight Films and Jay Shewakramani’s Northern Lights Films.
