And now Vicky Kaushal has now been roped in for one more project by Aditya Dhar. This film will be based on this interesting character from Mahabharata, Ashwatthama.

Ashwatthama is an immortal character and is said to be immune from hunger, thirst and even fatigue. He played a key role in the famed legend of the battle of Kurukshetra. He was ascetic Dronacharya’s son who fought the battle from Kauravas’ side against the Pandavas. Incapable of dying, the Pandavas tricked Dronacharya by giving the news of ‘Ashwatthama dying’ when in reality an elephant by the same name had been killed.

In an interview to Mirror (March 6), Aditya had revealed that his next is one of the scripts he’s written over the last seven years. At the time, he was also toying with the idea of reviving Raat Baaki, originally planned with Katrina Kaif and Fawad Khan. It was put on hold after the ban on Pakistani artistes following the Uri attacks.

“Everybody was sad when things didn’t materialize,” he admitted, adding, “But I don’t rule out the possibility of another film either.”

Aditya Dhar is in the middle of scripting the movie and are aiming for a mid-2020 release.
