The last season revealed to us Jon Snow’s true parentage. It ended with Daenerys losing Viserion and Jon and Danny heading to Winterfell thereafter. The season finale showed the Night King riding Viserion- now an ice dragon – and bringing down The Wall. Season 7 also showed us Jamie leaving Cersei and King’s Landing behind while heading North to join in the fight of the living versus the dead.

With this being the final season – with only 6 episodes – fans across the globe were eagerly awaiting the premiere of this adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire.

The 54 minutes episode titled Winterfell will hook you right from the first scene to the last.

WARNING
If you haven’t watched the episode, proceed at your own risk cause the night is dark and the article is full of spoilers:

In no particular order of its sequence or in order of preference, here are 5 scenes from the first episode of Game Of Thrones Season 8 that will blow your mind

1) Jon’s and Arya’s Reunion

The reunion we were all waiting for. From the pilot episode we seen the sweet relation Jon Snow share with his half-sister (who now we know is his cousin) Arya Stark. While Jon met with Sansa in the last season it was his reunion with Arya fans were eagerly anticipating. And we weren’t disappointed. The two shared their first hug while in the Godswood in front of the Old Gods. The hug spoke volumes as it reminded us of season 1.

2) Jon riding the dragon

Since the dragons were born we all took guesses on who will be their riders. While it was a given that Daenerys Targaryen will be one we wanted to know the other. And here it is. This episode saw Jon Snow riding Rhaegal – the dragon named after his father. It was a beautiful sight to see him try and keep himself from falling off the beast. The scene that followed thereafter was equally sweet.

3) Jamie sees Bran

Feels like a circle is complete? Well, we guess so too. Bran loss the use of his lower body because of the fall he suffered after being pushed off a high tower in Winterfell by Jamie Lannister. This scene is the closing one and it makes you want the next episode to come tomorrow to see what happens. Jamie gets off his horse to see Bran on his wheelchair staring at him. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens next.

4) Sam reveals Jon’s parentage

R+L=J, the theory that made an appearance on the dining room wall at Castle Black in Game Of Thrones Season 1 has been told to Jon. Samwell Tarly, after being told by Bran, meets Jon Snow in the Cryps OF Winterfell and tell him of his birth parents and his true heritage and claims. We could say that the revelation by Sam to Jon was a bit harsh as he just got to know that Danny has burnt his father and brother for not bending the knee. We wonder how these revelations – his parentage and Daenerys burning the Tarlys alive – effects Jon’s relationship with her.

5) The death of Lord Umber

The small Lord, Lord Umber, left Winterfell and headed North to bring back his people who were still standard at his holding, Last Hearth. But what happened there really broke our heart. Attacked by the Night King, he is left as a sign for those of the Night Watch along with those from Eastwatch by the sea to find. The young lad was burnt alive to keep him from making others zombies.

And guys, for Heaven’s sake do not miss the intro – it is AWESOME!
