Post the success of the horror-comedy Stree, Rajkummar Rao and producer Dinesh Vijan are teaming up once again for something similar. But this time they aren’t alone. Actor Varun Sharma has also been roped in for the film titled Rooh-Afza.
Mrighadeep Lamba has come onboard as the co-producer of the movie.
The producer confirmed the news before he left for his honeymoon in December 2018. The two small-town idiots, Rajkummar and Varun, are caught in situations that are scary as well as funny.
This new horror comedy is set in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad and revolves around a folk tale.
Says Dinesh,
“Every time a wedding takes place, the women scramble to keep the groom awake through his first night. At the same time, the chudail is trying to put him to sleep with a lullaby.”
It is believed that if the groom dozes off, the chudail proceeds to possess his bride in an attempt to make his marital life hell.
Dinesh adds,
“Even if the name of the movie is sweet, there’s nothing sweet about the movie”.
The female lead and director of Rooh-Afza are yet to be decided.
