Shraddha Kapoor As Saina Nehwal On the Sets

After garnering immense appreciation for her latest quirky drama ‘Stree’, Shraddha Kapoor is all set to treat her fans with the biopic on Indian badminton player Saina Nehwal.

The actress has released her first look of Shraddha as Saina. In the picture, which seems to be a still from the film, the ‘Aashiqui 2’ actor can be seen donning the sportswear, holding a racket, and pumping her fists after winning.

Shraddha Kapoor, who was last seen in Batti Gul Meter Chalu and Stree is all set for her next. The actress will be seen playing the role of Saina Nehwal, the famous Badminton player of India who has many accolades like Arjuna Award, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, Padma Shri in her illustrious career.

 

Today, Shraddha Kapoor was spotted on the sets of Saina Nehwal Biopic, while she was shooting for the movie.

Sharing her experience about preparing for her role in the film, the 31-year-old said that she practiced for months, which also included many 6 am training sessions.

“I have already clocked 40 classes of badminton in preparation for this biopic. It’s a really tough sport, but I am enjoying myself,” she said.

Talking about recreating the Indian shuttler’s journey, Shraddha Kapoor said, “To get an insight into the life of a sportsperson is fascinating. Saina’s journey itself is so interesting, right from her misses to her injuries and victories.”

 

Shraddha Kapoor added that she can relate to Saina‘s journey in a lot of ways. “I can relate to her journey in a big way because I have gone through similar experiences in a different field. Despite everything, she has not let her focus shift and that’s what’s truly inspiring,” the actor added.
