Famously known for directing films like Mary Kom and Sarabjit, Omung who has been an art director on numerous films in the past has designed the house and props for the ‘Bigg Boss’ show for the last seven seasons.
Omung Kumar has completed a long-standing association of 7 years with the highly popular television reality show ‘Bigg Boss’. The show which will be airing its 12th season soon has its house being designed by the filmmaker-art director and his wife production designer Vanita Omung Kumar.
This year, the show’s theme is a vacation beach party and hence, the entire house has been styled and designed as an exquisite beach house.
Revealing certain aspects about the house, he asserts that it has always been a challenge to think of a new theme for the house in order to make it look attractive and different for each season and yet at the same time play around with the psyche of the contestants in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house. He has successfully excelled in creating an environment based on the different themes of the show across the multiple seasons aired over the years.
Art director Omung along with his wife, Vanita Omung Kumar who is a production designer have collaboratively worked together with their team to build up the ‘Bigg Boss’ house each year. The idea of a Beach house came to Vanita soon after they had finished designing the last season’s ‘Bigg Boss’ house.
Omung said:
“It’s been fun designing the ‘Bigg Boss’ house consecutively for 7 years now. Designing the house for each season has always been exciting and interesting for me. We have always played with the look of the house each year which leaves the contestants in bewilderment. The idea is to design the house better than the last season and go a step ahead and so we have made a lot of changes and innovations and added various nuances in the design with every season.”
