Today is the birth anniversary of the talented film director and film producer Yash Chopra. The director who passed away almost 6 years ago has given us some memorable films that we love very much.

Ittefaq (1969)
This 1969 classic – that didn’t have any songs (Yes, a Bollywood film without songs)– told the thrilling story of a double murder and the people caught in the web of lies. The semi-classic hit of its time has been remade in Bollywood.
Deewaar (1975)
Deewaar told the story of two impoverished brothers who struggle to survive in the slums of Bombay and eventually find themselves on opposing sides of the law. The movie is still remembered for its iconic dialogues.
Kabhie Kabhie (1976)
This romantic classic was beautifully directed and showed how the children of ex-flames – who didn’t know of each other’s existence – fall in love, thus getting their parents in front of each other again.
Kaala Patthar (1979)
The story told was that of 3 men working in the coal mines who sacrifice their lives and limbs in order to save the miners working there.
Chandni (1989)
This romance directed by Yash Chopra depicted the love of a couple share for each other and the limits they willing go until for the sake of another.
Lamhe (1991)
This romantic drama was something, not tried in Bollywood yet. A story about a guy who once falls in love with a lady who later on dies in a car accident. After which, this guy falls for the dead lady’s daughter (who is of the half age of the guy) who has the same face as of her mother.
Darr: A Violent Love Story (1993)
In this psychological romantic thriller, Yashji beautifully directed Shah Rukh Khan as the obsessive stalker who pines for his college love.
Dil To Pagal Hai (1997)
A complicated love story with people pinning for someone else when another is pinning for them. Ya, its damn complicated, but Yashji depicted it beautifully and made us understand it.
Veer-Zaara (2004)
Yashji beautifully captured this across the border love story that faces trials but yet come together in the end.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012)
This was his last film before he passes away. The film released a month after his demise.
