Jimmy Shergill: If I had to choose between Happy 1 and Happy 2, I’ll choose Happy 2

We caught up with Baagha a.k.a. Jimmy Sheirgil from the Happy Bhaag Jayegi franchise. The actor is all set to reprise this role in Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi, set to release on August 24.

The versatile actor, who was recently seen in the third part of Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3, spoke about being part of sequels, Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi, his projects, choosing films, and much more.

Here are some pointers from Jimmy Sheirgill’s interview:

Talking about his character in Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi, Jimmy said,

“In Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi I am the same Bhaaga you saw in the first part. And because it is written by Mudassar only – the first one is also written by him – so uski jo personality hai, uske jo traits hai, wo sab same hi rehne wale hai.”

Continuing about the same he said,

“The character is the same, only the situation changes. Pichle baar waise hi use Urdu hi bhaari pad rahi thi, Pakistan aur wo sab, ab China chale gaye hai, ab bilkul hi samajh me nahi aa raha. Toh ab yeh character kaisa react karta hai…”

Taking about being a part of franchises and all he said,

“I think, agar film ko pyaar mila ho aur Box office par bhi acha kiya ho, that is the only time that producers and all decide to make a second part.”

Jimmy also spoke about both the Happy movies saying,

“If I had to choose between Happy 1 and Happy 2, I’ll choose Happy 2 even if I am not a part of the team as an actor. If some boys ask me as a producer, if I will produce ye wali ya wo wali, I’ll any day choose Happy 2.”

When asked if he has a happy ending in the film Jimmy said,

“I lose the girls, toh hi kahani aage badti hai. Milegi toh kahani kaha jayegi. Toh gadbad ho jayegi.”

Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi is the sequel of Happy Bhaag Jayegi. It stars Sonakshi Sinha, Diana Penty, Jimmy Sheirgill, Ali Fazal and Jessi Gill in the leads. The film releases on 24th August 2018.
