At the trailer launch, Ekta was asked about why she decided to launch these newbies who have no filmy background as well as her take on nepotism in Bollywood.
Speaking about nepotism she said,
“My take on nepotism is, I don’t do it.”
She continued,
“I’m not having a problem with it. I might take a different route, but that’s my choice. I might take a route which not be completely business friendly – I’ll probably bundle a film that I believe in with 2-3 bigger films and make two more shows, if it doesn’t do well, so that the company doesn’t suffer.”
The two actors spoke about their struggle in order to land the roles.
Trivia Alert:
Tripti was rejected for the role back in 2016, but after re-auditioning she bagged it.
Ekta Kapoor, who launched actress Mouni Roy in her show spoke about the actress and wished her luck for her upcoming film.
Presented by Imtiaz Ali, directed by Sajid Ali and written by the two, the film is produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Preety Ali. Laila Majnu starring Avinash Tiwary and Tripti Dimri releases on 7th September 2018.
