Netflix’s first original Indian show Sacred Games has created a buzz all over social media. The trailer of the show has also received a lot of appreciation.
After 11 years, writer Vikram Chandra’s 2006 thriller ‘Sacred Games’ is finally being adapted on screen, and it was a long time coming. It’s honestly quite surprising how this novel, which is considered one of the most memorable books on Mumbai, hasn’t been turned into a movie or TV show till now.
Becoming the first Indian show in the Netflix Originals category, ‘Sacred Games’ will be an eight-part series. At the press conference held to announce the production, Chandra insisted on how crucial it will be for any screen adaptation of the novel to be multilingual. “With Netflix, the opportunity to have that multilingual flavor was unpassable,” he adds.
Starring Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte, Sacred Games is all set to premiere on Netflix from 6th July, 2018.
Sacred Games had the India premiere and some of the most well-known names in Bollywood were present – Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Harshvardhan Kapoor, Ishan Khatter, Chitrangada Singh and others were around. The premiere took place at PVR Icon at Versova. The star cast, Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddique and Radhika Apte added glamour to the event as well.
Yesterday the screening of Netflix’s Sacred Games was held for celebrities.
