Just 2 days ago we celebrated World Environment Day and saw what Bollywood celebs did in spreading the word to take care of it.
There is no doubt that over the past decade or two the world has made some major path-breaking discoveries and developments. But many of these beneficial developments have come at the cost of environmental depletion, that is even threatening the existence of life on the planet.
Today we take a look at 5 Bollywood stars who are strong advocates of Environmental issues.
Amitabh Bachchan
Amitabh Bachchan has always shown support for environmental friendly causes. He has been an active participant in the Versova Clean Up Drive as well as the face of the Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan campaign.
Priyanka Chopra
PeeCee is a UNICEF ambassador. She has travelled the world visiting various camps set up for underprivileged women and children. She has also voiced her support for the plastic ban and has been supportive towards other such causes.
Dia Mirza
The former Miss Asia Pacific is an advocate for eco-friendly living. She had been appointed the UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador for India in November and on last year’s World Environment Day she was named the brand ambassador of the Wildlife Trust Of India.
Richa Chadha
This Bollywood actress has been vocal about doing our bit for the environment. Richa has been leading a very organic lifestyle and even prefers to wear sustainable fashion in order to prevent further harm to the environment
Taapsee Pannu
Taapsee was roped in for a campaign by Animal Planet on tiger conservation to generate an interest in the survival and conservation of the National Animal of India.
