Salman Khan has been sentenced to 5-year jail term and is also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000. The actor’s lawyers will now approach the Rajasthan High Court for bail in the case.
The actor was found guilty of the killing of two blackbucks near Jodhpur in Rajasthan nearly 20 years ago. The other actors —Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam Kothari have been acquitted.
He has been convicted under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, which carries maximum punishment of six years and minimum one-year jail term.
The actor accused of killing the blackbucks in Bhagoda ki Dhani in Kankani village near Jodhpur on the night of October 1-2, 1998, during the shooting of Hum Saath Saath Hain.
