Salman Khan Granted Bail In Blackbuck Case

Salman Khan has been granted bail today by Judge Ravinder Kumar Joshi at the Jodhpur session court.

Yesterday, the actor’s bail plea hearing was pushed to today.

 

Salman Khan had been sentenced to 5-year jail term and was also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000. The actor was arrested immediately and was in Jodhpur Central Jail.

 

He was found guilty of the killing of two blackbucks near Jodhpur in Rajasthan nearly 20 years ago. The other actors — Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam Kothari were acquitted.

 

He was convicted under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, which carries maximum punishment of six years and minimum one-year jail term.

 

The actor accused of killing the blackbucks in Bhagoda ki Dhani in Kankani village near Jodhpur on the night of October 1-2, 1998, during the shooting of Hum Saath Saath Hain.
