With 102 Not Out going to release soon, we got in touch with Rishi Kapoor for a group interview.
The film’s tagline is ‘Baap Cool, Beta Old School’, when asked if what is he like here’s what Rishi Kapoor said,
“I don’t consider myself, it’s a film. I have been given a duty and I do the duty.”
When asked about his passion for acting he said,
“I am very fond of acting. People are asking why I am not directing again , I say I don’t have time. I have so much work as an actor, I don’t have time to direct.”
Talking about his prosthetics he said that it was mainly used in Kapoor and Sons. Elaborating about the time spent in doing it he said,
“You have a passion for something then you can do it. I can’t sit in one place for 5 minutes, I am so impatient. A creative mind is always impatient. You cannot stagnate.”
He opened up further about the chance in preferences audiences have. He said that movies that were character driven weren’t there till about the mid-90s. He said that the movies then were pretty similar – lost at birth, poor boy-rich girl – and people were very forgiving.
He also spoke about how promotional events are very expensive. The statement he made was
“Picture achi honi chahiye, picture chalegi. Content will be driving a film, not because you did promotions.”
