Team Kaalakaandi Turns A Punjabi Folk Song Into A Pop Wedding Number!

After giving a psychedelic song, Swagpur Ka Chaudhary, the team of Kaalakaandi have just released their second song, Kaala Doreya – a pop wedding dance number.

Kaala Doreya, is a well-known Punjabi folk song (Gidda) which is traditionally sung during weddings. For a wedding scene in the film, director Akshat Verma was very keen on having a traditional number, but at the same time wanted it to have unconventional beats.

 

Akshat bought on board music composer Sameer Uddin to curate modern beats to the traditional song. It has been sung by Neha Bhasin with a special rap by English rap artist, Raxstar. The song has a special performance by Akshay Oberoi and Amyra Dastur with Saif Ali Khan joining in with his crazy moves! Isha Talwar is also a part of this song.

Produced by Cinestaan Film Company and Ashi Dua Sara of Flying Unicorn, the film stars Saif Ali Khan along with the eclectic ensemble of Deepak Dobriyal, Vijay Raaz, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Sobhita Dhulipala, Akshay Oberoi, Isha Talwar, Shenaz Treasury, Shivam Patil, Amyra Dastur and Neil Bhoopalam. The film will release on 12th January 2018.
