Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming movie besides Padmavati, Batti Gul Meter Chalu’s teaser was released this year Diwali. But we were unaware of the lead actress in the movie. According to rumors, Katrina Kaif was supposed to be the female lead.
But now as per a report in Mumbai Mirror, it is Ileana D’Cruz, who has been finalized for the role as of now.
Ileana will be reprising the role of a lawyer opposite Shahid, who plays a lawyer as well. Batti Gul Meter Chalu is about a common man’s struggles with electricity shortage and the sky-high prices charged.
Talking about it, Prerna Arora, who is co-producing the film with T-Series, told Mumbai Mirror:
“We have only spoken to Ileana so far. It is a strong role of a lawyer with intense scenes and we are casting now.”
So this means that the leading lady opposite Shahid has still not been finalized. Well, this won’t be the first time Shahid and Ileana will be paired opposite each other. The two were loved by the audience in Phata Poster Nikla Hero.
Well, let’s hope that an actress is finalized soon.
