Actor, writer, painter Shweta Rohira has always loved reading and says that it was her mother who inculcated this habit in her.
“I think I must have developed the habit of reading while I was in my mother’s womb as she says she used to read to me then. Even later, it was my mother who made me fall in love with books.”
She has a few favorites when it comes to books. She says,
“As I child, I used to read Panchatantra tales, fairy tales and then the Sweet Valley. Now, I read everything besides thrillers. I only read a thriller, if it is combined with mythology. Devdutt Patnaik and Nicholas Sparks are my favorite authors.”
Talking about the books she loves, Shweta says,
“My Gita by Devdutt, because that book made me fall in love with the mythological genre. I also Love Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks, this book made me believe that fairy tales exist.”
The actor says that each book teaches you a lot.
“When you read, you learn so much from every book, it’s like leading another life in your own lifespan.”
She loves to spread this love for reading as well.
“I love gifting books to friends. I feel it is the most valuable gift you can give someone.”
