Birthday Special: Here are five films of Shoojit Sircar that told a really good story

Shoojit Sircar is a national award winner (Vicky Donor – Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment). Besides directing and producing content oriented films, Shoojit, has also penned down the story for the acclaimed 2016 film, PINK.

Today, we list down five films that we love and he was a part of. Out of these, he has directed four and written the fifth.

Yahaan (2005)

This war drama starred Jimmy Shergill, Minissha Lamba and Yashpal Sharma. Inspite of not having success at the box-office, this film was praised by the critics.

Vicky Donor (2012)

The plot of this film revolved around sperm donation and infertility. And yes, this is the same movie that gave Bollywood Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam.

Madras Cafe (2013)

This Indian political spy thriller starred John Abraham and Nargis Fakhri. The film won at the 61st National Film Awards for Best Audiography.

Piku (2015)

This comedy drama saw Amitabh Bachchna, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan like never before. Amitabh Bachchan, won the Best Actor award at the 63rd National Film Awards for his role in this fun film.

Pink (2016)

This Indian courtroom drama social thriller was written by Shoojit and went on to win the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues. The film will be completing a year tomorrow but its message is yet clear in our heads – No Means No.
