Adhvik Mahajan: I wanted to show the real me through my latest pictures

Actor Adhvik Mahajan is a busy man nowadays. The actor, who was last seen in Ravindra Gautam’s Meri Durga, is eagerly waiting for the release of his film, Hoja Zara Matlabi, which will release in November this year. Adhvik has also recently shot a photoshoot where he looks very different.

He says,

“These pictures are different from my last pictures that were clicked during Bani…Ishq Da Kalma days. I had kept a very rough dusky look for my role in Bani as well as Ram Gopal Varma’s movie Contract. I had also gained weight for the roles. Due to this, I lost lot of good opportunities. I just wanted to break that notion and show the real me.”

Talking about his last show Meri Durga, he says,

“I played the lead character of Madhav in the Star Plus show for 6 months and just recently quit as the show was going in for a leap.”

Adhvik is specific about the role he picks up next. He says,

“In the past, I have been part of theatre, Hindi movies, Tamil and Telugu movies along with some brilliant TV shows. My choice is always based on three factors – whether my character is really important for the story to move ahead. Secondly, is the role that is being offered really a challenging one in terms of performance and creative satisfaction? And thirdly, will it be something that my family, fans and friends would be proud of? I am open to all mediums be it TV, films or theatre.”

Ask him the secret to his lean body, and he says,

“I avoid late night outs and get up early in the morning. I work out regularly, take care of my eating habits. I have never tasted alcohol and don’t even drink tea and coffee. I also turned vegetarian long ago.”

The actor adds, “

I have been into fitness right from age 14 when I used to play volleyball. I was a professional swimmer and I am a martial artist since the last 8 years. I treat my body as a temple and take care of it. Our body is the best physical asset God has gifted us and now it’s completely our responsibility whether we use or abuse it.”

Ask him if good looks are a priority for an actor, and he says,

“Honestly and for all practical reasons, they are very important…but there are no good or bad looks. Your looks should be suitable enough for the requirements of the character be it Ram or Ravana.”
