Actor Shardul Pandit stands up for his social responsibility

Very few actors can do this but actor Shardul Pandit has the guts. Recently the actor and his good friend actress Ankita Bhargava came up with a video where they spoke about the current women’s safety issues in India. Check out the videos here:

Almost every day there are incidents of rape and gang rape. When asked Shardul says,

“This is not the first time I have done something like this. When I was in Dubai I have done a video on Rahul Gandhi’s interview with Arnab Goswami SPOOF (Turnup Goswami VS Rahul Aandhi) and later on also I have done a video on Fawad Khan. So I have always believed in freedom of speech.My video on women safety has a very deep message, I strongly believe that somewhere down the line we need to change our thought process. Women have to support their own community. A son has to be raised properly by his mother. Why will women be judged on their dress? Recently when a journalist was shot I was so sad. And on social networking platform someone has the guts to write bad things about the journalist. I felt so bad and I was so angry and that aggravated me to make my second video.”

He continues,

“I somehow feel people around us have become fanatic and India is known for freedom of speech but where we are heading? As an actor I always knew that I have certain social responsibility and we can take a lot of initiative and also can convey the message in a rightful way. I have got so much warm feedback from my fraternity. Actors like Karan Patel, Karan Wahi they have called me and congratulated me on this initiative.”

We hope many actors can take initiative after they see Shardul’s effort.
