RJ turned actor Kettan Singh has got an opportunity to play three different characters- a doctor, a policeman and a real estate agent in Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s new fiction show Shankar Jai Kishan- 3 In 1 on SAB TV. Best known for films 7 Hours to Go and Solid Patels, Kettan Singh is excited to be a part of this different show. He opens up about life and career!
How does it feel to play three roles in one show?
To be honest, it is a dream come true for every actor. However, I must agree that it is the most tedious job, as playing three roles with three different accents is not easy for an actor. It takes a lot of concentration and voice modulation.
How has your journey from RJ to an actor been?
I am an engineer by qualification but I wanted to do something different. I became a Radio Jockey that is how I entered the world of entertainment. With this exposure, I got into multiple other things, like voice over artist and dubbing. I have worked on big projects being a voice over artist. Finally, I got the big break with Shankar Jai Kishan.
Who was your inspiration for this role?
I took references from various movies. For instance, I studied the character of Amol Palekar from Golmaal, Shah Rukh Khan’s character from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. My character is of an innocent and shy man who always speaks in chaste Hindi. Similarly, for Jai’s character I took inspiration from Salman Khan.
Have you ever faced any funny situation in your life?
There have been many funny stories while growing up.
Today, we see many actors opting for singing, would you ever sing?It depends.
What puts you off people?
When people do not respect their work. I just cannot take it.
Does criticism affect you?
Yes, criticism definitely affects me.
