After the super successful Mad Max Fury and The Huntsman: Winter’s War, the uber sexy Charlize Theron is back with a bang (literally) with the much awaited – Atomic Blonde. Directed by David Leitch (who co-directed John Wick and is set to direct Deadpool 2) the film is set in Berlin during the cold war, which showcases Charlize Theron essaying the role of an undercover MI6 agent.
The film is based on Antony Johnston and Sam Hart’s 2012 graphic novel – The Coldest City, which revolves around a spy who has to find a list of double agents who are being smuggled into the West.
Starring James McAvoy of the Chronicles of Narnia and The Split fame and Sofia Boutella of The Mummy fame the film promises some breathtaking action, high speed chase and love making sequences.
Produced by Theron, the film has her totally reinventing the action combat visual showcase and more so with her having done all her own action sequences herself. Talking about the film and doing her own action, Theron says:
“I asked David (director), ‘We’re going to pretend that right?’. David was like, ‘No you’re actually going to throw big dudes.’ So I was like – Alright, let’s throw some big dudes.”
After the super success of Wonder Woman in India, where woman taking Centrestage and film subjects with women leading the way solo along with doing some serious hardcore action being accepted with packed cinema houses, Atomic Blonde surely stands a good chance of leaving a big mark in the Indian Market.
The film is set to release in India on 11th August by PVR Pictures.
