For the first time, 1 million tickets of ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ were already sold out in 24 hours. It is the highest that any film has managed to collect in the advance booking sales. And guess what? The movie has already made Rs 36 crores in just 24 hours!
Shocking, right?
When trade expert Akshaye Rathi revealed the figures, the excitement in his voice was clear. He said:
“Within 24 hours, they sold about Rs 36 crores worth of tickets in advance. Universities are booking shows because they want to do management classes on Baahubali 2. I have never seen such craze. It is as if this is the first and the last movie people are going to watch.”
The scenario is pretty much the same overseas as well.
A US distribution company Great India Films revealed:
“We have passed $3 million in pre-sales and are adding almost $100,000 to the total every hour. This is the highest for an Indian film in advance ticket sales.”
In the US, the film is releasing in over 1100 screens. It has managed to beat ‘Dangal’s’ record too. It had approximately clocked Rs 20 crores in pre-booking sales but ‘Baahubali 2’ has brought in Rs 36 crore in just 24 hours.
Obviously with tickets price raised so high the film is expected to make a good collection.
