Anand Kabra showcases at Lakmé Fashioin Week Summer Resort 2016

Designer Anand Kabra does not believe in the mundane when it comes to fashion presentations. In the past, he has showcased through installations and shows. This time, he took it up a notch by transforming Level P6 Parking into a beautiful fashion experience during Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016. His collection of party and bridal wear conjured a beautiful mélange of ensembles, which had a distinctive traditional touch to them.

As soon as the lights came on, the models floated in like a dream, wearing garments, which reflected the designer’s undeterred love for Indian embroidery. The carefully chosen color palette consisted of beige, maroon, midnight blue and gold. The USP of the collection was the copious use of traditional Indian embroidery, such as gota, aina, resham, zar and pitta.

The silhouettes that glided through the show consisted of lehengas, shararas, floor-length anarkalis, jackets and saris. A traditional rendition of the jumpsuit, crafted in a beautiful shade of midnight blue, teamed with a gold embroidered jacket, stood out distinctively. A beige cotton sari, featuring the traditional Hyderabadi style zardosi work called zar, on the border, was worn with a metallic gold jacket.

The bride-to-be this season will definitely feel like a royal princess in the exquisite blue lehenga, which showcased the zar embroidery along the hemline. Teamed with a long metallic gold jacket, the ensemble was the ideal choice for a modern-day girl for her big day.

Anand Kabra’s collection held the audience spellbound with its portrayal of elegant, contemporary silhouettes. The aesthetically appealing garments will surely be lauded by the New Age woman.
