Few weeks ago we told you about Uplift Humanity – An organization which allows students from the US to go to India and give teaching and talks on kids who have been behind bars. In 2014, Uplift Humanity launched Uplifting The Veil, a social media contest where volunteers were challenged to leverage smart phone technology to capture what life is really like behind bars in India. Volunteers who attended our programs in Hyderabad, Delhi, and Vadodara this summer documented their experiences working inside these facilities. The objective of this program was to spread awareness to American youth in the United States on the conditions of underprivileged youth in India. Each student recorded a personal video and shared it on their social media handles. The videos were released last week, and each video has been getting hundreds of views on YouTube.
They now have announced the winner of the video and here is the video where actor Arjun Gupta announces the winner of the 2015 Uplifting The Veil contest.
