Water melons are known to have high lycopene content which are known to fight cancer and other free radicals the body is exposed to. Research supports the fact that , as the watermelon ripens ,it’s lycopene value increases as well. From white-pink to red is the general color transition of a watermelon.

While most fruits get their red color from Anthocyanin flavnoids, Watermelon gets it red color from Lycopene. The Phenolic compounds found in watermelon makes it a great antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties.

Citruline is one of the unique amino acid found in Watermelon. Citruline is converted by the Kidneys into arginine. Arginine when not produced in good amount by the body naturally, decreases blood flow and general sport performances. Hence, citruline plays a major role in blood circulation, maintaining good reproductive organs and promotes good stamina during physical activities.

It’s also a great source of Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Potassium  and is known to reduce dehydration.
