The Hottest/Coolest Winter Nail Color

And the award goes to… MINT!  Thats right!  Although most pastel shades including this bluish/green one, are often associated with the summer, mint nail colors are all the rage this winter.  Almost all the nailpolish brands from Revlon to Essie to M.A.C. have concocted their own shade of mint and the right color for you should not be hard to find at all.

I am very particular about my nails and although I have gotten compliments in the past, never have I gotten as many as I did when I was rocking my favorite shade of mint (Secret Garden by Claire’s).  I had two young ladies stop me on the train to ask me what color I was wearing and where they could get it!  Ain’t that something?!

This color is very South Asian skin tone friendly!  It looks great on fair skin as well as darker skin with any color undertones whether they be warm or cool.

I know a lot of people don’t like investing too much money on nail colors and sometimes certain brands can get quite pricey (often up to $8.00 for a bottle!) but worry not!  You can easily find a cheap drugstore dupe since the color is so popular (Sinful Colors, Klean Colors, Jordana, Milani, etc.).

Many of the popular mint shades of the season are very opaque and don’t contain shimmer, however, even for those of you who do not want to make too bold of a statement with your nails, there are options.  Try Hint of Mint by O.P.I. which is a buildable shimmery shade of blue/green mint.  If you want to go for the classic look though, you can’t go wrong with Essie’s Mint Candy Apple (even the name sounds yummy!)

Don’t be boring this winter!  Engage in the winter spirit and try a shade of mint that suits you!
