Indian American Adult Film Star, Priya Rai recently sat down with Urban Asian to discuss her career, sexuality, and her aspirations to reconnect with the Indian community. In this interview Rai talks about her childhood where she was raised by American parents. As she approached adulthood, she realized the importance of embracing her Indian cultural values as well as reaching out to the Indian community.
Priya Anjali Rai was born in New Delhi, India as a real life slumdog. Abandoned at birth by her biological parents, she was adopted by American parents at the age of 2 and brought to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she spent most of her life.
After attending Arizona State University to study marketing, Priya was discovered 12 years ago by the Adult Film Industry while she was working as an exotic dancer. One of the most difficult challenges facing Priya was her struggle to form a good relationship with the same Indian community that found her Adult Film career to be Taboo.
