The Renault Star Guild Awards 2015, which took place at Reliance Mediaworks on January 11th, made its action packed premiere on the Star Plus last night. The award show “of the industry, for the industry, by the industry” is said to be the first of it’s kind award show where the producer’s guild decides who among them is the most deserving of the praises. Present at the event were Bollywood biggies such as Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Deepika Padukone, Ritesh Deshmukh, Shraddha Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra as well as television heartthrobs Shamata Anchan, Sahil Salathia, Rohan Gandotra, Mohit Raina, Neil Bhatt, Deepika Singh, Varun Jain and Pooja Singh.
While the glitz and glamor of these stars is what usually makes the awards shows a night to remember, The Star Guild Awards 2015 owes its success to the candid hosting styles of Red Carpet Hosts Nakuul Mehta, Jamie Lever, Gunjan Utreja and onstage presenters Kapil Sharma, Paresh Ganatra, Parineeti Chopra and Shahid Kapoor.
As the major catalyst of actor-audience interaction, each host dug deep into the actors’ hearts revealing their larger than life humanistic side. Through Nakuul Mehta and Jamie Lever’s candid hosting approach, audiences learned that even Deepika Padukone gets nervous and anxious before an award show. The king of impromptu, Kapil Sharma, stunned Shahid Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra to the point that Parineeti even had an “Oh ish” moment on stage. If all of that was not enough, Kapil Sharma and Paresh Ganatra made Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and Anil Kapoor victims of their spoof which they took on sportingly.
The night ended on an emotional note where Hrithik Roshan revealed the secrets of his parents’ hardship while presenting The Lifetime Achievement Award to his father Rakesh Roshan.
