Newcomer Nav Deep’s “Nakhre” On Way To Break Half Million YouTube Views!

When a newcomer’s debut single garners over 400k (as of this posting) YouTube views in just a few weeks, you know that there has to be something magical about the music being shared. Newcomer Nav Deep (aka Navdeep Singh Matta) has made quite the impact with his first song called “Nakhre” that is about love, flirtation and attitude!  It is a collaboration with actor-musician Samrat Chakrabarti and UK Punjabi rapper Raxstar that has Nav Deep’s traditional folk lyrics set against a haunting pop beat. Nav Deep says his music captures the sounds of Punjab, where he grew up.

It is always nice when friends feed off of each other’s creativity.  Such is the case with the song, “Nakhre” which was born late night in an East Village bar when friends Nav Deep and actor/musician Samrat Chakrabarti sat together discussing various projects the were working on.  A few keys on the piano and some acapella singing later, “Nakhre” came to be!  The final touch came when Raxstar was added.  Raxstar is a rapper who shot to fame in 2005 and is best known for his rap ballad “Jaaneman.” As for Samrat, he has written and produced several movie and theater soundtracks, including Bumbug the musical, and is a well known actor.  He has produced Nakhre’s catchy music.

The music video has been directed by Parmod Sharma Rana, who has directed over 400 music videos and won a PTC Punjabi Music Award for Best Video Director 2016.  The track has been released by White Hill Music.
