It’s no secret, singing sensation Annamika has always had a bit of a philanthropic streak. March 17th, we reported that Annamika released a song in prayer of the Japanese tsunami victims. Proceeds from the sale of the song were donated to the Red Cross.
Now, the super star is ready to venture in a new direction. Annamika has decided to impart her knowledge of music and singing with a new generation, by opening her own music academy in Gurgaon. Annamika has been in the music industry now for over 15 years, so her experience and advice will really help aspiring singers on their path to success.
Annamika reflected that she felt it was “high time that I branch out from doing stage performance and start something new. So, I have decided to start my own academy. Through this medium, I would like to impart my musical knowledge to the younger generation. There are so many talented singers in our country it will be a good opportunity for me to help them groom. Today, we have so many reality shows where we see every day a new artist being born, I think grooming school and musical institutions will certainly help them the kids to build more confidence while performing at such show.”
India has so many talented people that could use such guidance from an experienced singer to help them come ahead. As an artist, Annamika is able to transcend amongst many genres – be in pop music, bhangra, ghazals, qawalli, english songs, etc. With such a talented teacher at the helm of the school, hopefully, Annamika’s school will produce a new generation of talented singers who will receive global acclaim and success.
