Producer Rajan Shahi, who has delivered several hit shows, including Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, and the ongoing one Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, was recently honoured by the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, which is India’s highest award given in the field of entertainment. Rajan, who over the course of several years, maintained such good relations in the TV industry, first as a director and then later as a successful producer, that television actors are overjoyed on hearing the news. I had done a dance performance on his show a few years back and he had made me feel very special during the shoot. I want to wish him all the best for all his future projects.

I have worked with Rajan sir in ‘Amrit Manthan’, and I think I am a lucky actor who got to work with a gem of a person like him. He is a darling, and a father-figure to me. He is my mentor. I don’t think people like him exist in this world. I feel blessed that I have worked with him, because he has been a pillar of support for me. Whenever I need any advice, I know that he is just a call away. Even recently when I was not well, he would call me and speak to me. When my mother passed away, he was there holding me, standing next to me just like a rock. So, for me he is my godfather. My relationship with him is that of an actor and a producer; it’s beyond that. I know I can share anything with him. I am elated he got this award for the hard work he has done. ‘Yeh Rishta…’ is the longest running show in this industry, and the win and the success is all because of the passion and the dedication shown by him and his team.
I know that a lot of people take advantage of that love, but I think he deserves many more awards. I pray to God that he gets even more awards and success in his life
