Usually, disclaimers are reserved just for films; promos and trailers are spared from this safeguarding exercise. However, the CBFC has asked the makers of the much-awaited Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘Sarkar 3’, directed by Ram Gopal Varma, to add a special disclaimer to the trailer which is going to be unveiled soon!
The reason behind this is the Board feels that the trailer bears an uncanny resemblance to the Thackeray family; hence, a disclaimer is an absolute must. If you recall, this has been constant with the Sarkar franchise. Even when the earlier installments released, there were comparisons between the character played by Amitabh Bachchan and the late Thackeray patriarch, Bal Thackeray. Parallels were drawn between some of the other leads and members of the Thackeray family too. However, this was never acknowledged or confirmed.
The third offering from Ram Gopal Varma’s most anticipated franchise, ‘Sarkar 3’, releases on 7th April, 2017. While Eros International is the distributor, it has been produced by Allumbra Entertainment, Wave Cinemas, and AB Corp.
