Saansein & Rock On 2 clash: Double bonanza for everyone!

Bollywood has turned into a battlefield with increasing number of movies clashing with each other at the Box Office.
It all started with Dilwale vs Bajirao Mastani at the end of 2015. Then, year 2016 came with a baggage of clashes. While some tried to face the competition and couldn’t survive, some others like Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees averted the clash with Salman Khan’s Sultan. Now yet another monster clash is on its way between Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil vs Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay.
But it seems the newest clash between two upcoming films Saansein- The last Breath and Rock On 2 will bring a certain relief in the otherwise warring Bollywood. The Rajniesh Duggall-Sonarika Bhadoria starrer Saansein and Farhan Akhtar-Shraddha Kapoor’s Rock on 2 are set to arrive on the same date. Both the films are releasing on November 11, 2016, but this is not just another Box Office clash that we have been witnessing of late. As both the flicks belong to two different genres; Saansein being a horror-romance and Rock On 2 a musical drama. Both have their respective market and niche. Since both the films cater to different set of audiences, it would be a win-win situation for all the parties concerned with the film business and a double bonanza for the patrons.

It was way back in 2001, when we saw a major clash between Aamir Khan’s Lagaan and Sunny Deol’s Gadar which both released on the same day and doing staggering bubsiness. Ever since then we haven’t really seen two films hitting the screens as often on the same day and simultaneously doing well.

Of course there’s always talk in gossip town about how filmmakers become upset about this, but we must see beyond and be happy for the fact our industry is creating even more films each year and bringing more variety of genres onto the table. Perhaps number wise these films don’t do exceedingly well, but it gives the audience to pick and choose on a double filmy-friday. Sometimes crazies like myself will find themselves watching both on the same day.

let’s wish all the films for the rest of 2016 a best of luck and hope all goes well!
