The versatile actor Raju Kher is set to reprise the role of a soothsayer on the small screen in the show Ek Maa Jo Laakhon Ke liye Bani – Amma, produced by Farhn P. Zamma and Asif Shaikh on Zee. Raju’s last TV outing was in the show Tamana on Star Plus.When contacted, the actor said his character is that of a fakir who predicts Amma’s (Shabana Azmi’s ) future, much to her chagrin.
Raju, who has never played a similar character said he is excited to play this new role and revealed he doesn’t take long in dressing the part.
“My role is quite interesting. I thought it would be a long process to get the look of Fakira, but surprisingly, I only take about 20 minutes to dress up like him.”
Raju, who is a spontaneous actor said he believes in giving his best to whatever role he is playing, no matter what the medium is, “Be it TV or films, you have to work hard and enjoy it, only then you can give your best. The length of the role doesn’t matter to me. For an actor, every part he plays is challenging. It’s practice what makes us perfect, and we have to give it our very best.”
