There are certain films in Indian Cinema that are a must watch, whether you are Indian or not. Barfi! is one of those films, and if you have yet to watch this beautiful and impeccable film then there is a lot missing from your life.
Barfi! is one of those films that touched me in so many ways, especially has an aspiring filmmaker. It is simple, comical, emotional, and by the end you just have this endless smile on your face. And really anyone can watch it because its a film which has very little dialogue and more expression of emotion, where I believe anyone can understand.
Here are a few scenes, moments, and tracks from the film that are my favorite!
I am going to be really biased and let you know Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra are my two all time favorite actors of the film Industry and I hope the two of them can do more films together. The only two they have done thus far are Anjaana Anjaani and Barfi!.
1. Ranbir Kapoor as Barfi!
One of his best performances in his film career, and has received the Best Actor Filmfare Award for this role. You can see by just this one track, Main Kya Karoon by Nikhil Paul George in the film how outstanding and commendable his performance is in the film. Of course we see shades of Raj Kapoor in him throughout this film, but I think that’s one of the most beautiful parts of this film.

2. Priyanka Chopra as Jhilmil
In the track above, we see one of the most heart-baring scenes with Priyanka Chopra. But it doesn’t end there. In this track Kyon sung by Papon and Sunidhi Chauhan, the turning point of Barfi and Jhilmil progresses and its this part of the film which I love the most. The definition of love can be hard to define, but I certainly wish we all used less words and complications attached to it and made it as simple as director Anurag Basu portrays on-screen through these marvelous actors.

3. Ilena D’cruz as Shruti Ghosh Sengupta
I personally have not seen any of Ilena’s work prior to Barfi! but I was appalled by her performance in this film and totally fell in love with her innocence in the movie. In this beautiful much loved track Phir Le Aya Dil sung by Arijit Singh the relationships are defined and conveyed through feeling, little but no words, and bittersweetness.

4. The Love Test
This particular scene in the film is repeated with multiple friends of Barfi’s. He has his friends undergo a ‘test’ its very similar to the trust fall, but probably a bit more scarier. After having a few friends go through it, and miserably failing, he only realizes the right person to try it on. Just watch it for yourself and you will see the beauty of it within the clip.

5. Anurag Base as the Director of the film
I of course want you to watch the film yourself. But every scene of this film will catch your attention and hit all the buttons within you. If you didn’t know though, this film was presented to its producers, actors, and the entire team with no script. This entire film was made with nothing in paper, and that only adds onto the beauty of this film. I am more than positive if the actors had a script to follow, it would not have turned out the way it did. A lot of parts of this film were directed on-the-spot, and sometimes even not directed at all. It just happened. 
A director like Anurag Basu is definitely one of a kind, but for all young filmmakers and actors to learn from. If you can complete a film with almost no script at-hand you have met your title of being an actor, filmmaker, or whatever role you may have on the team of Barfi!
