Ram Gopal Varma (RVG) has always gone against the grain. He has his own unique style of filmmaking and has not been afraid to take risks. It is no different when it comes his film promotions as he always does it in his own unique way. His latest film to release is Veerappan releasing on 27 May 2016, which stars Sandeep Bhardwaj, Lisa Ray, Usha Jadhav and Sachiin Joshi. The first look of director RGV’s upcoming film Veerappan is a quick recap of the life of the forest brigand, which showcases Asia’s biggest manhunt for the most wanted criminal Veerappan. Moreover, Sachiin Joshi’s Viiking Media and Entertainment has now tied up with a leading multiplex chain all around India where you will find a look alike Veerappan asking you “Aapne trailer dekha kya??” What a unique strategy!
The two-and-half minute trailer of Veerappan is scandalous and fascinating in spite of having no dialog! Despite the lack of dialog the trailer has left an impact. #VeerappanTrailer began trending on Twitter soon after the trailer released.
Having the Veerappan look-a-like at theaters seems to be a hit amongst the movie goers. So, while one enters to watch action in Baaghi they are welcomed by Asia’s most wanted criminal Veerappan holding a gun in his hand to strike fear in the movie goers. The anticipation seems to be growing, and with this move striking a chord with the audience, the wait for 27th May 2016 seems to be increasing. Joshi told us that this is one way to give a glimpse to the audience on why it took 10 years to catch Osama Bin Laden, but 20 years to catch Veerappan.
